Higham Vineyard sits on the north side of the Stour Valley in Suffolk and is owned by good friend of mine, David Alston. David took on this wonderful site in 2019 and has since been managing the vineyard personally - management that resulted in a most impressive début vintage last year.
The scenic village of Higham is just three miles from our offices in Constable Country where in 1804 it became the subject of a painting by the great artist himself. The south-facing view of Higham from the vineyard remains much like what John Constable captured on canvas over two centuries ago.
Under the guidance of a New Zealand-trained winemaker of strong pedigree, his single-estate pinot noirs thrive on the valley's rich, flinty soils.
