ABOUT THIS WINE

This is my favourite top-quality white burgundy from the Vignerons de Buxy, the 2019 is a premier cru white at under £20 the bottle.

The premier cru ‘Les Chaniots’ is a south-east facing vineyard located above the villages of Jully-les-Buxy and Saint Vallerin in the Montagny commune. It is prime terroir for expressing chardonnay that is at once opulent yet precise with notes of minerals. Les Vignerons de Buxy have excelled themselves here which makes for a white burgundy that is wonderful to enjoy with Dos de Turbot sauvage, au poivre de Jamaique, beurre d’orange au gingembre et asperges vertes or indeed any pan-fried fish or juicy langoustines.

The 2019 is showing well and for the quality is very reasonably priced.
