Simon W | 2018 Mâcon Fuisse, Château de Fuissé
This 2018 Mâcon Fuissé, from Château de Fuissé itself, is simply delicious. Pale gold, appealing and delicious aromas of violet and butterscotch, a lot going on here. There is intensity of ripe fruit with nice grip and a smooth long finish - punches way above its weight. Many whites produced further north in the Chalonnaise are not a patch on this.
I enjoyed this wine with crispy fillets of brill, with garlic butter, wide leafed parsley, orange, cherry tomatoes and a caper salad (from Field April 2021) - try this recipe, it is very good.
