The following mixed case includes one bottle each of:

2020 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Domaine Lecheneaut
From below Nuits, aged in older barrels. Incredibly concentrated purple despite 30% whole bunch. This Bourgogne has a powerful bouquet of dark raspberry fruit, but not heavy and not over ripe. A gorgeous succulence of fruit with fine acidity. This has concentration at the back, a sturdy and serious Bourgogne.

2021 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini
The Bourgogne, Champ Franc vineyard, was last picked at 14%, and all destemmed. Deep crimson. Powerful stuff with super ripe cherry and raspberry character, not cooked but very ripe. Cherry kernels with some alcoholic power, but a fresh crunch to finish. No doubting the volume.

2021 Bourgogne Rouge, Benjamin Leroux
Palish pink purple. A light and pretty floral raspberry nose. Half a crop, but all vinified on the premises with no purchases in wine. This is elegant, stylish, lightly oaked and long. Drink from 2024-2027.

2021 Bourgogne Rouge Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Joseph Voillot
This 'baby Volnay' remains among the best-value from our Burgundy portfolio, and in the '21 shows a core of juicy red fruit with fruit-coated tannins and lovely texture. Simply joyful, delicious and belonging in any wine-lover's collection.
Mr.Wheeler tasting note

2021 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Philippe Livera (Tilleuls)
Half the crop was lost this year, but Livera's Bourgogne rouge lost none of its joyful quality in this vintage. Super pretty core of red juicy fruit, fleshy with a nice long finish, and some hints of that liquorice that points to fruit grown on the Gevrey terroir. Very hard to beat for the value it delivers.
Mr.Wheeler tasting note

2020 Bourgogne Rouge 'Milliane', Domaine Claudie Jobard
Sourced from 70-to 80-year-old vines from around the Pommard area, this is an outstanding example of the relatively new superior Bourgogne rouge appellation of Côte dOr. It is big and forward with powerful toasted cherry fruit, yet with an underlying delicate structure of real class. Undoubtedly a heavyweight in lightweight territory. Not to be missed.
