Founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards have since built a world-wide reputation for crafting classically styled wines of Napa. The Wheeler family began shipping these wines in the nineties and we were a key partner for the winery is establishing their name within the UK.
The estate wines from the main Duckhorn domaine are, deeply flavoured wines with great freshness, structure and restraint. From their inaugural 1978 vintage, comprising a mere 800 cases each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, their later addition of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to the portfolio has seen Duckhorn’s prowess for traditional Napa Valley expression flourish. Since 1990, the Duckhorns have extended their portfolio by adding new wineries in carefully chosen sites to suit specific grapes or wine styles. In 1990, after nearly 15 years of making world-class Bordeaux style wines, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing passion for Pinot Noir. Their vision for Goldeneye was to craft a distinctively California Pinot Noir of equal stature to their acclaimed Merlot. After a decade of research and experimentation, Goldeneye harvested its first grapes in 1997. Since then, the winery has grown to include three estate vineyards planted to 136 vine acres.
Founded in 1994, Paraduxx is the only Napa Valley winery devoted exclusively to making Napa Valley blends. Fusing the grandeur of Cabernet Sauvignon with the robust flavors of California’s native Zinfandel, Paraduxx’s premiere bottling embraced the best of both core varietals. In addition, Migration was started in 2001 to determine the optimal Pinot Noir clones, terroir, and winemaking style and has produced Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast AVA since 2016.
From its inaugural vintage in 1985 as the companion label to Duckhorn Vineyards, Decoy has evolved to the perfect and comprehensive entry-level luxury brand for the entire Duckhorn Portfolio. Decoy is a collaboration of all Duckhorn Portfolio winemakers where fruit is sourced from distinguished grower and estate vineyards. These wines offer tremendous value for money, from a top Napa estate.
