2022 Laudun Rouge, Château Courac
If you're looking for a big, bold, flavoursome red with real presence one glowing with dark, bramble fruits, ripe luscious texture and more than a little spice - then look no further than Château Courac's hugely popular Laudun. We've just shipped the new 2022 vintage and its as vibrant, profound, and expressive as ever.
We used to refer to Laudun as one of the Rhône's best-kept secrets, but over the past year it has become our most popular wine from the Rhône Valley. So, it seems the secret is very much out. But I'm not surprised, because this is seriously Châteauneuf in style, at a distinctly un-Châteauneuf price.
In France last week, I caught up with the Arnaud family who own Château Courac, and they've been all smiles since the appellation of Laudun was recently elevated to a Cru of the Rhône valley. This means an important recognition of the quality of its wines, as well as the establishment of the village in the pantheon of the regions finest.
We also have available Château Courac's 2023 Laudun Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc - a sensational blend of viognier, roussane, marsanne and grenache blanc you simply can't miss.

About the producer
Joséphine and Frédéric Arnaud took over this super property in 1995, and make wines of real warmth, generosity and purity of fruit. Set high in the hills above the village of Tresques (to the north-west of Châteauneuf-du-Pape) the Arnauds have 90 hectares of syrah and grenache vines from which they make their enduringly popular Laudun. Laudun itself is where the Romans first camped when they landed in the south of France - and they knew a thing or two about making wine!
A wine that really delivers at all levels at a fraction of the price of C du Pape. Well worth having plenty in your cellar.
