2020 Meursault, Domaine Henri Delagrange et Fils

Upon pouring, the rich, golden hue in the glass immediately declares 'Meursault', offering a real power and intent in the glass.

There's little need to swirl or swish as already the senses are gratified. For here, Delagrange’s expression is particularly showy; one where the aromas of peach, pear and spring blossom dominate, whilst being gently framed a warming toasty oak character and a hint of clove.

The palate is just as eager to deliver the goods, with ripe stone fruit first to emerge, progressing to a warming medley of roasted nut, creamy buttered toast. Then, a gentle warmth develops as the oak character reveals itself on the finish with a toastiness revealed with every post-tasting breath.

It’s impossible to imagine a better pairing with any roast Christmas fare – especially classic turkey, goose, chicken and all fowl.
