Situated at the southern end of the Marsannay commune, adjacent to its arguably better-known next door neighbour Fixin, this is a classic example of how the appellation can excel. A restrained and delicate nose of ripe hedgerow fruits leads into a delightfully powerful central core of blueberry and a touch of cherry on the palate. The balance of great juicy acidity (so typical in this vintage) and robust fruit-coated tannins suggests a wine for the medium to longer haul, but one that is unquestionably worth the wait.
