2018 Chablis 1er Cru Vaucopins, Domaine Long-Depaquit
The Vaucopins is a lesson in wine-making from this historic house, with layer upon layer of flavour and texture as the wine swirls around the palate. In contrast to Les Lys above, this has a rich, round, unctuous texture with an underlying core of green apple and white flowers. Before too long, I would expect this wine to be considered for Grand Cru status, in quality even if it takes longer to get 'approved'.
