Vegan Wine

Not all wine is vegan wine because beyond grapes, producers may use fining agents to accelerate the ageing process, which in turn is done to reduce molecules such as proteins and tannins to create a clear, bright wine. Traditional, commonly-used fining agents come from animals, such as casein (milk) and albumin (eggs). Vegan wines use clay or charcoal based fining agents, or are made traditionally by using no fining agents. Non fined wines are often labelled, but the fining agents used in fine wines are sometimes unstated, however you can forego uncertainty by choosing one of our these wines, which are vigorously checked to be vegan friendly wines.
