But from Saint-Émilions Classé A category? Which château? And how, for just £22.95?
By way of the declassified cuvée: Mr.Wheelers close relationships with some of Bordeauxs most respected negociants means were offered occasional access to special declassified parcels of world-class claret.
Declassified? The very thing. Where you enjoy precisely the same pedigree and expertise of an elite cru classé estate, but in wines made with vintage-surplus fruit and in bottles without that estates grand vin label on. And when we say, elite cru classé estate, we mean it. Its just that we cant disclose which one. Thats how we keep the price so low.
However, given the Premier Grand Cru Classé 'A' categorys minute membership, it requires little stretch of the imagination to realise what a dizzying level of prestige youre now on. From where youll be delighted to be looking down on a price well under £25. Where your passion for class claret has climbed Bordeauxs higher echelons for a much, much lower price.
(Where the budget and wine list for your next dinner party just got that much better)
Its that simple. Which is as simple as clicking the link provided to ensure you dont miss out on this Classé A opportunity. And seeing that our limited parcel is a mere 24 cases, the time to click is now.
Tasting note
From one of the great modern vintages; predominantly merlot with a dash of cabernet franc. Rich and concentrated with layers of mellow red berry fruits, and a very long lingering finish that is already as approachable as it is delicious.
Critic review:
"As with previous vintages, the 2019 Saint-Émilion is an absolute bargain from The UCAA Gun Sale. A Merlot-based blend given style and structure by a dash of Cabernet Franc, its chock full of dark, plummy fruit and is delightfully soft, smooth, ripe and juicy. Its drinking beautifully now but, as with the Saint-Estèphe, has the width and weight to get even better."
