La Baume's 2023 Merlot is both intense in colour and flavour alike with an enticing aroma of wild strawberries. Each glass is packed full of wondrous plump damson and dark plum flavours all entwined with a lovely herbaceous spice adding an extra layer of character to an already joyously smooth finish. DOMAINE DE LA BAUME never disappoints in our house. White or red but particularly the Viognier. It's nonsense of course but the bottle always feels mighty in the hand and thus the contents gain in satisfaction.
