The Wines:
2022 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape, Les Galets de La Berthaude
An 80-20 blend of grenache and syrah aged only in concrete, this is a Châteauneuf full of pretty raspberry and red cherry aromas. Full bodied and rich, it offers silky texture with flavours of damson, spiced plum and peppery spice on the palate.

2020 Crozes-Hermitage 'Domaine de Thalabert', Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné
"Seemingly refined by the additional elevage since I reviewed a barrel sample last year, the 2020 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert remains a big, rich, dark-fruited and almost tarry effort, but this full-bodied wine is pleasantly velvety and marked by savoury notes of scorched wood and black olive tapenade that linger on the finish."

2021 Gigondas Cuvee Prestige, Domaine le Clos des Cazaux
What makes this a cuvée prestige? Well, it certainly tastes prestigious there is a little more syrah in this wine (30%) from aspecific, top-quality parcel of old vines in the far south of Gigondas. A little more oak here as well eighteen months in barrels, of which 20% new which adds a more striking roasted coffee and cocoa note to the profound wild red berry and bitter cherry flavours, garrigue spice and liquorice. A bigger, weightier step-up here, and a wine of immense presence and balance.
