2016 Chardonnay, Sumaridge Estate, Upper Hemel-en-Aarde
Upon pouring there's a rich, golden colour in the glass stretching to the brim. The nose is bold and complex, with pronounced aromas of dried orchard fruit, herb, walnut shell, and seasoned oak. The palate offers a medley of dried orchard fruit, a rich, woody nuttiness and hint of marzipan, then a wonderful warming length with an unctuous creamy feel on the finish that hangs long on the palate. Just wonderful.
