From young, south-facing vines planted on granite, François' Contours de Deponcins puts many a Condrieu to shame - a glorious cocktail of apricot, honeysuckle and fresh citrus, this is a great buy. 

A former chef turned vinegrower about 3 decades ago, François has quickly built an impressive (and deserved) following from his base in Condrieu. Expect wines of impressive purity and both added depth and spicy complexity from his use of small volumes of intensely flavoured, botrytis-affected grapes.
