2021 Séguret Family Reserve Syrah, Domaine de Mourchon

Again there's a dark core in the glass, sweet bramble and plum on the nose with a hint of oak. The palate is laden with sweet blackcurrant and plum, warming, toasty oak and spice with a fine, mouth-coating grip. The finish really hangs on the palate for a good while and further flavours of sweet brambly fruit and oak emerge. It's a beautifully balanced wine to be decanted and served at a grand dinner. This was another warm vintage for the region and the team at Mourchon have managed to balance the ripe fruit perfectly, the older vines really delivering high quality grapes.
