2020 Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir, Errazuriz, Aconcagua Valley
How gratifying to learn how relatively little you can pay for pure pinot noir pleasure. And here, a true Chilean pinot noir: bags of bright, juicy cherry fruit, layers of sweet spice and a savoury, smokey edge. Layers of spicy, dark-cherry flavours in a wonderfully versatile with both red and white meats.
"Sourced from a cool coastal vineyard, just 12km from the Pacific Ocean, this enjoyable Pinot Noir is fermented with native yeasts and spends 11 months in a combination of new and used French oak. Bright cherry and raspberry aromas are edged in spice with a hint of undergrowth. Spicy raspberry fruit on the medium palate, with top notes of fresh plum and sour cherry. Lovely vibrancy here, with good freshness and acidity, finishing with spicy redcurrants. Drink to 2026."

"The 2018 Errázuriz Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir is classic oak-aged Chilean Pinot fresh, ripe and juicy, with a welcome savoury twist and a sensible price to match. I love it!" - Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine (previous vintage)
