2022 Vacqueyras Blanc 'Vieilles Vignes', Clos Des Cazaux, Vache

Largely clairette again, with Roussanne, and a littleviognier in this cuvée. Made from vines 60 years of age, planted by Jean-Michel's grandfather, and displaying all the resulting intensity, depth and concentration. Vinified in Burgundian barrels, with 12 months ageing on the lees. A bright opulent wine, with a positive explosion of flavour pear,quince, pineapple and a hint of grille almonds. Full, and creamy again, but with a saline, citrus freshness, and a long complex finish.
