2010 Classic Cuvée, Nyetimber, West Sussex (Magnum)

The most famous English sparkler with quality that rivals, and indeed surpasses, many sparklers from the most famous French regions. Its fine, persistent mouse, delicate balance of orchard fruit, zesty citrus and its toasty, biscuity quality are just to die for.

2010 was an excellent vintage for the estate and the last Classic Cuvée to be released as a single vintage wine before moving to the multi-vintage blend.

Extended aging on the lees and in bottle at the estate has culminated in a beautifully textured wine with impressive depth and breadth of flavour. I've long known from personal experience that Nyetimber's wines are very age-worthy and the 2010, especially in this magnum format ,is an excellent example. There's no rush to pull the cork this will happily evolve in bottle over the next 3-5 years so it's a great choice to tuck away for future enjoyment.

I make no secret of my enthusiasm for this superb English sparkling wine and a mature example, from a stellar vintage, in magnums is a real treat indeed.
