2022 Château Mont-Pérat Bordeaux Blanc

The palate offers a very pleasant, rich texture, with ripe stone fruit, yellow peach and apricot dominating. This initial fruit character has a certain sweetness to it,yet the finish remains pleasingly dry thanks to a freshening citrus' zing'.

This really is a lovely glass of wine which doesn't scream 'tropical sauvignon blanc' it is more textured and reserved. It's almost a stepping stone in style from Burgundian chardonnay to the Loire sauvignon, and I actually think many white Burgundy fans will really enjoy this for its texture, which comes courtesy of the semillon and time resting in bottle.

There's no rush to drink either, such wines are cellar-worthy, and generally retain a real freshness as the secondary flavours and texture develop, my suggested drinking window may ultimately prove to be quite conservative.
