2022 Mâcon-Villages, Château du Charnay

From a small domaine in the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy, managed by the impeccably run cooperative La Cave des Vignerons des Terres Secrètes, it’s lively, citrusy and even so faintly honeyed. There’s no oak to speak of, just unadorned, fresh, clean Chardonnay fruit."

Located in Val Lamartinien in the South of Burgundy, in the village of Sologny. The 3 hectares of mostly Chardonnay, produce this Mâcon-Villages. The hillside vines, facing East/South East, draw their fruity and mineral notes from clay-limestone soils.

Lovely aromas of citrus, white flowers and yellow fruits show the complexity and finesse of this wine.
