2022 'Arbouse' Massif d'Uchaux, Côtes du Rhône Villages
Massif d'Uchaux is one of the 'cult' villages in the Côtes du Rhône - no surprise then it is a strong candidate for elevation to its own village appellation. This wine has been a universal hit with our buying team - absolutely bursting with spicy blackberry and plum fruit, and one of the best value wines we have tasted this year. A bold, brambly, juicy red with real character and great depth of fruit, with its bright aroma, luscious texture and super balance.
"A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan, it's moody, earthy and spicy with an abundance of rich dark fruit and a decent kick of alcohol. Produced by the exemplary Cave Coteaux du Rhône Sérignan-du-Comtat co-operative near Orange, it's right up my street, warming and comforting." - Jonathan Ray, The Spectator.
Not as powerful and opulent as the similarly priced Vidal Fleury, but very good all the same.
Good value, good quality. Was initially a tentative purchase but it very much convinced me of its quality. Plenty of body and well balanced fruit. Ill stick with it as a regular purchase.
The second Cotes du Rhne Ive had recently and this is as good as the first. Rhne wines have never been a preferred choice but these have begun to convert me. More body and a fuller, more rounded, flavour than I expected. Certainly recommended.
A very well balanced Cotes du Rhone from a good vintage, good length and at an acceptable level of alcohol, not to mention an affordable price. I will buy this again.
