2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 'Clos Village', Domaine Philippe Livera

At the very centre of the Gevrey commune (and with the Livera cellar at the top), Le Clos Village is a particularly successful cuvée in 2020. Full of explosive energy with a depth of flavour to rival that of some of the better premiers crus, this is a Gevrey that delivers on the expectation for a great village cuvée here - and then some. The length is particularly impressive, and there is real ambition with a structure to see it safely through most of its second decade.
