2021 Whispering Angel, Château d'Esclans, Provence (37.5cl Half Bottle)
A stunning Provence rosé now with a year of bottle age - it's crisp, clean and fresh with pronounced berry flavours balanced with the perfect level of acidity. Château d'Esclans has proved once again that Whispering Angel is the world's benchmark for all rosés.
Matthew Jukes, our friend and wine reviewer, has got his hands on a bottle and reckons it is one of the best ever, even saying it is "a more sophisticated wine" than the 2020;
"In 2021 there is a wonderful backbone to this wine from which the fruit is carefully draped. With the trademark watermelon and pomegranate hints and a deeper and more structured mid-palate than was found on the lithe 2020 this is a more sophisticated wine than its crowd-pleasing predecessor. This, in turn, means that it is a foodier proposition, too, which is great news. So, my very first 2021 Provence Rosé is set to, once again, wow all-comers."
Whispering Angel is recognised as one of the finest rosés in the world. This is supported by the vast array of awards and exceptional press the wine has received (with a few examples featured below). No detail or expense is spared in the production of this rosé ensuring that the wine in your glass delivers on the excellent reputation that it has built over the years.

Tasting note:
Very, very pale bright pink that unleashes rose petal aromas. Lip-smacking soft summer fruit flavours abound with just the slightest hint of violets in this scrumptious 2021 vintage of Whispering Angel. A great rosé in all respects from Sacha Lichine and his team.
