2016 Château Ramafort, Cru Bourgeois Médoc (magnum)

Another fine vintage for Andrew McIness’s Ramafort, the 2016 takes the ripeness and expression of the excellent 2015 and adds a nudge more structure and texture. As ever, a claret of remarkable character and presence, with luscious cassis fruit, tobacco, woodsmoke and spice in perfect balance. With time in the glass, more layers of aroma and flavour emerge, and tannins are ripe and fine-grained. Real finesse here.
