"The 2021 Domaine de la Jasse Barrique Blanc Chardonnay from the heart of the Languedoc, is absurdly good value with a full three quid lopped off the RRP. Made from old vine, oak-aged Chardonnay, it's full, rich and honeyed with hints of pear, melon, vanilla and even a whisper of toasty caramel. The owner/winemaker, Bruno le Breton, terms it an everyday Grand Cru with reason."
Jonathan Ray, The Spectator
For over 20 years, the wines of Domaine de la Jasse have been delighting our customers with their consistently high-quality wines of all styles. Every year they sell out and every new release is greeted with a chorus of cheers.
Whilst the Vieilles Vignes rouge delights many a Bordeaux lover, the Barrique Blanc offers Burgundian chardonnay lovers all the wonderful rich, ripe flavours of the Cte dOr, at a fraction of the price. In my opinion, there is no better priced barrel aged chardonnay around. So, treat yourself and everyone else this festive season and stock up while you can.

Tasting notes:
When turning his craftsmanship and terroir savoir-faire to chardonnay, Bruno renders us an elegant and expressive glass every bit as gratifying as his Vieilles Vignes. 'Barrique Blanc' (100% chardonnay, barrel-aged) is sourced from the estate's cooler sites in Limoux, where more temperate micro-climes make for the kind of raciness, concentration and finesse one enjoys in a white wine from the Côte de Beaune.
Le Breton's Barrique Blanc is simply a delight to the senses, giving as it does a nose of spring blossom, apricot, brioche and vanilla, and a palate layered with flavours of exotic fruit, clove, roasted hazelnut and buttered toast. A sumptuous pairing with all manner of cuisine.
My absolute favourite white wine. I love it, on its own or to accompany fish. Its perfect, chilled and served with smoked salmon and brown bread. (previous vintage)
