2021 Gigondas Cuvee Prestige, Domaine le Clos des Cazaux

What makes this a cuvée prestige? Well, it certainly tastes prestigious there is a little more syrah in this wine (30%) from aspecific, top-quality parcel of old vines in the far south of Gigondas.

A little more oak here as well eighteen months in barrels, of which 20% new which adds a more striking roasted coffee and cocoa note to the profound wild red berry and bitter cherry flavours, garrigue spice and liquorice. A bigger, weightier step-up here, and a wine of immense presence and balance.
