Sangiovese Red Wine
It is difficult to imagine a grape more synonymous with Italian viniculture than sangiovese red wine. More closely is it associated with Tuscany, where it serves as the core varietal in so many of this region's celebrated denominazioni such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and those of the 'Super Tuscan' tradition. Sangiovese red wine makes for what are typically bold, highly structured, potentially long-lived wines, whose generous levels of acidity and tannin give them a tremendous capacity for pairing with food.
