The Greenhough Mixed Case
Its 30 years since Andrew Greenhough and Jenny Wheeler (no relation) bought a vineyard in the encouragingly named village of Hope in Nelson. With a love for the land, they have since converted the vineyards to organic viticulture. No herbicides, pesticides or soluble fertilisers have been used in the vineyard for more than a decade. This means the vineyard is buzz with life: between the rows of vines, crimson clover, blue lupins, alyssum and buckwheat grow attracting beneficial insects and regenerating the soil.
Its no surprise that their wines are pure expressions of this slice of paradise, which is why The Wine Advocates New Zealand reviewer Joe Czerwinski loves Greenhough and its wines so much. The organically grown grapes are guided by Andrew with a sensitive hand to preserve what nature has provided. This has been captured in the latest releases, which are fresh off the boat from New Zealand and have achieved high praise from the worlds most respected palates.
